Instagram has rolled out an update recently which enables the users to manage the audio settings within the the applications.
When the app is opened, the videos will auto play with the sound off. The audio can be turned on just by tapping on the particular video. This will automatically turn on the audio for the subsequent videos in that session.
This works vise versa as well. That is, just by tapping on the video when the audio is turned on, it will automatically turn off the audio as well as in the subsequent videos in that particular session.
It means that Instagram users won’t have to turn the audio on for each individual video, which could be a pain. As far as Instagram Stories are concerned, the audio will match the settings on your phone and as long as your handset is not on mute, Stories will play with the audio on.
The advertisers will see more of their videos play with audio enabled. After all, an add with no volume is most likely to be ineffective.
