Huawei started to roll out EMUI 8.0 based on Android Oreo to Huawei’s Mate 9 and Mate 9 Pro (also the Porsche Design model). Both the smartphones are launched with EMUI 5.0 – based on Android 7.0 Nougat.

EMUI 8.0 brings many of the AI features that are available in new Mate 10. This includes the digital assistant with voice commands, translation and more. The desktop mode, called Projection, is part of the update as well.

If you not able to see the update received over the air, you can use Huawei’s HiCare app to request an update. Regions other than China has to wait for couple of weeks to receive the update.

The EMUI 8.0 update for the Huawei P10 and Honor V9 is currently in Beta.
